Designed for electric or gas cooktops up to 22K BTU, the Demand operates at 1.5 sones on normal speed and 5 sones on high speed (110 CFM at reasonable, 220 CFM at high setting), making it as quiet as it is efficient. Enjoyably range hood
This range hood definately has a unusual look to it, one that has my husband confused as to whether he likes or dislikes it. I love it. The hood brings the be unearthed up a bit higher than traditional hoods. It has two fan settings and a low/high light settings, along with two lights. We used halogen overflowing lights and on the high setting it really lights up the entire range and surrounding counter room. Unlike traditional hoods, it has a clean and finished look underneath.
Dependable Product
I purchased this output because I wanted to match my stainless steel appliances. I notice this hood was larger than my 1980's era hood that I inherited from the above owner of my home. So, it was time for an update. The installation was not too hard for a DIY type person, such as myself. I purchased the hood in a confinement home improvement store and didn't look for the reviews on Amazon like I normally do to see how others believe the quality of a product. I was shocked to learn that Amazon sells the hood that I purchased for $100 less than I purchased it at the inventory. Wow! That is a big difference. If my cheapness weren't out-weighed by my laziness, I'd take the hood back for a refund and purchase it again on Amazon. Oh well, admonition learned.

Can I use an old chimney flue intended for a wood or coal range as a duct for a modern range hood?
My parliament has a 3 flue chimney with one closed off opening to the kitchen for a flue that is not in use. I hypothesize it was for a wood or coal kitchen range. The chimney rises through my 2 fish story 1898 home and thru the attic. The other two flues are for the boiler and a fireplace which is never against. . We wonder if a range hood could
It would be entirely fine for you to do this. However, your carpenter is absolutely right. When you are cooking in the winter and start up your hood, it's successful to blow expensive hot air right out of your chimney. All in all, it's not really worth it unless you exist in a very warm climate.
What is the building code in Canada with respect to make-up air requirements on range hoods?
I have a builders class 160 cfm range hood. I'm doing a modern looking renovation and all the range hoods that match the veiled are 270 to 500 CFM. Is there an actual code that says at what level I Necessary make-up air?
Yes here in the states there is and you will also call to have an air balancing done. It's so you don't create a vacuum in the building so it shouldn't matter if it's in Canada or here.
